Introduction to Networks Application layer Presentation layer Sessions layer Transport layer Network layer Data Link layer Physical layer Information added at the transport layer on the sending computer is read in the transport layer on the receiving computer. When the outgoing data stream is passed from the application layer down to the lower layers that makes a complete message, and the transport splits into segments. When the transport layer splits into segment, it has sequence information that let the transport layer on the receiving computer to put the segments together in the right order. When it reaches the Network layer it adds its own header information and then the segment becomes a packet. At the data link layer a trailer and header is added and then the packet becomes a packet. When the frame reaches the Physical layer the included information from the other six layers and frame is transmitted across the medium as bits (Tomsho, el at.). This process is important to an administration and network protocol development because

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
