turn against German which was already in war with Great Britain. Adolf Hitler had a strong army
concentrated on both fronts of the war. The non-aggression pact treaty was meant for dealing
with the Soviet Union just for about six months due to the strong ammunition possessed by the
German troops (
Edele 94)
. The Soviets retreated by deploying inexhaustible troops which
prolonged the war for more than three years. Since Hitler, though he would defeat the Soviets
within the shortest time possible, the war took long diverting the concentration of German troops
in the western front. The Soviets troops played a significant role in weakening the German
troops. The Soviets proved the German troops inferior after killing most of them and outdoing
their plan to invade the Soviets completely. Hitler's' hope of victory in the Second World War
faced a blow due to the Soviet invasion in various ways.

Most of the German troops were executed in the war and their tanks destroyed. German
deployed a lot of troops in the Barbarossa operation which could have otherwise been used to
deal with the war at the western from. Hitler deployed troops in the north and in the south to
ensure that they encircle armies of the Soviet Union. Poor strategies deployed by Hitler in the
war also played a significant role in German defeat. German troops could have captured Moscow
by early 1941 before the winter sets as Stalin could have requested terms on armistice favorable
to the Germans such as occupying the Caucasus region which s rich in oil.
Hitler did not predict
the harsh climatic conditions during the winter where most of its troops died during the 1941-
1942 winter due to frostbite (

.
One of the main reasons why German lost the Second World War to the allies was due to
Russia backups to the allies. Before Russia's involvement in the war, German was pursuing the
allies in the west from and had almost contained them. Despite Russia having a strong, they
could not intervene between the German battles with the allies (
Walters 127)
. That gave German
an upper hand in winning the war against the allies. The weak territories such as Poland had
already been weakened and occupied by the German troops. By the year 1940, German troops
were the most powerful in the world as they conquered Denmark and Norway, Belgium,
Netherlands, and France. They had also driven the British military from continental Europe. The
German troops had also overpowered Greece and Yugoslavia. It with no doubt that if it was not
Russia intervening in the Second World War, German could have emerged as a winner.
