Preclass Societies (natural socialism) Asiatic Societies-agricultural societies, people own and people don’t own, theres inequality present. Ancient Societies-very unequal. Feudal Societies-power of nobles over serfs. Capitalist Societies-poverty ***According to marx, societies change from pre-class all the way to capitalist. This process is what every society goes through. Preclass: hunting/gathering/equality. Not conflict, so many animals no problems hunting/gathering. ‘Wonderful time in history.’ Based on natural socialism according to marx. Asiatic: agricultural society. People started farming. Began on soft soil near river. Didn’t own anything before, but now growing foods and therefor ‘it is mine’ idea evolved. Beginning of inequality, ownership. Ancient: controlled and owned by kings, queens, emporers. Absolute power over everyone. Feudal society: nobels (landlords) had power. They had power over serfs. Ended as a result of industrialization. Now, big cities were flooded with new
immigrants (farmers) very poor. Capitalist: rules brutal at first, favored industrialists. Children began work. 2. Capitalism Cooperation Manufacture Modern ***Capitalism: individuals can own property, no guarantee of equality (poor and rich), always exploitation (people at top exploit people at bottom), and system is cruel according to marx.
