We use solar heating and cooling systems to not only maintain the environment of our modern buildings and houses, but to generate hot water for leisure and household duties. Since Wyoming is a coal state we have a large percentage of land that is set aside for open pit mining. Wyoming holds nine out of the ten largest coal mines in the continental United States, meaning a halt on coal mining would severely hurt not only our economy, but our labourforce. To credit the other side of this dispute, coal is a phenomenal natural resource that is extremely efficient but also very environmentally harmful. a relatively small energy transmission range because the energy produced is very intense. Coal is an energy source that can be transported and used all around the world, where solar is limited on both of those factors. Coal can be mined and shipped to any place in the entire world and used as long as there is some way to expose the energy. Solar is limited to areas with direct sunlight, and after the energy is produced it is confined to a small area in ratio to the size of the system.
