Hetero sexualwith having erotic feelings for one of opposite sex and homosexualas sexual feelings for same sex. In this book however a third category discussed that Dr. Krafft-Ebing called Physcho-sexual hermaphroditismin which one felt sexual attraction to both sexes – known today as bi-sexual. At this time in history is when heterosexuality was deemed normal and it was here that prejudices and hatred was born. Anyone who was different from the norm was seen as a pervert. A long road was ahead to prove to modern day society that mental health and stability had no correlation to sexuality. In 1948 a report by Alfred Kinsey on Sexual Behavior revealed that homosexual experiences and the mixture of both sexes were more common than believed. Kinsey rebelled against the idea that heterosexuality was the norm citing that “only the human mind invents categories and tries to force facts into separated pigeon-holes.” Further on, the son of Kinsey, Gore Vidal, sums it all up – if today’s society would realize the depth of this statementa lot of hatred and brutality would be vanished “…and what anyone does with a willing partner is of no social or cosmic significance.”Upon birth each one of us are part of a ‘class’ – right, wrong or indifferent. Classism is used to further divide and oppress specific groups. Lower, middle, upper class – white, black, Hispanic, Asian – gay, straight, transgendered – male, female.
