the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (2018), on-time vaccination throughout childhood is essential to provide immunity before children are exposed to potentially life-threatening diseases. The parents will also be informed that all vaccines are tested to ensure that they are safe and effective for children to receive at the recommended ages (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, 2018).As an advanced practice nurse using evidence-based guidelines and applying ethical principles, I will not force my opinion on the parents, but respect their right to self-determination(American Nurses Association, 2015). I will, however, provide the parents with all the information needed to make an informed decision regarding the benefits of immunization and theconsequences of non-compliance such as deformity, paralysis, and death.
