o This section is NOT included in your textbook and will require some research to complete it satisfactorily. Appendix – This section will include items which may not fit in other sections of the business plan but which you discuss in other sections (and then refer the reader of that section to the Appendix). Do not include items in the Appendix without referring them to the location in the Appendix. You may NOT have any of the items listed here and may have items that are not listed here. In other words, these are not required, but may be used if they provide additional information for the reader that would be useful. o Organization Chart and Résumé for each of the key personnel for the business o A narrative history of the firm in detail (this will NOT be long for a startup plan, but could be very helpful in understanding how the business developed) o Letters of recommendation or endorsements for the business o Brochures describing products and services o Historical financial information (this would NOT be appropriate for this plan because it is a startup business) o Details of goals and objectives for the business o Any information that doesn’t fit into another section of the business plan, but which you would like to refer to in other parts of the plan Bibliography – List all references used (including the textbook and class PowerPoints) such as the Internet and people interviewed while creating this business plan. Be sure to use proper formatting for all items that are listed. Be sure to include items in the Table of Contents to make access easier. Other Rules When preparing your paper, you must observe all of the following rules. The purpose of these rules is to make the grading as fair as possible among all students. The sections of the plan must be submitted on the due dates listed on the checklists in the modules (points will be deducted for late sections). The body of the plan MUST follow the outline and be in exactly the same order. Major content of the plan must be double spaced (only one blank line between paragraphs). o The Title Page, Table of Contents, Bibliography, Appendix, footnotes, long quotes, material in tables, figures and exhibits, headings lists, sample letters, etc. may be single spaced.
o Direct quotes must be cited. o All sections carrying point values must be identified by the headings listed in the outline – exactly the SAME heading with no differences. Headings in the body must agree with headings in the Table of Contents. o The starting page for each section must be indicated in the Table of Contents. Be sure to indicate the page number (look at the Table of Contents for your textbook if you are unsure about how to do this!). o No sections may be added or deleted without discussing the addition or deletion with
