I would tell them that the electronic databases permit a significantly more accurate process called the  ABC and have three objectives. 1. Show the resource elements of cost so that the producing unit or a  performance improvement team can compare to benchmark and evaluate changes in the activity. 2.  Provide a transfer price for internal transactions. The transfer price can be compared to prices offered  by external vendors. It also encourages the using unit to identify and control consumption. 3. Encourage  the producing unit to think of the purchasing units as customers whose needs must be met (White and  Griffith, p 426). I would also tell them to that the managerial accounting restructures transaction data to  support monitoring, planning, setting expectations, and improving performance. It is oriented to produce
