Dan. I met Dan shortly after my ex husband and I decided to get a divorce. At that time I was heartbroken, fearful, and a shell of a person. I had no confidence in myself whatsoever. I gave up everything in the divorce except my children. I just wanted out. I had nothing , and I felt like I was nothing. All I could see was that I failed. I failed myself, I failed my children and I failed my family. When Dan came into my life, he saw through all the hurt and the pain. He saw the person I was inside. The person I so desperately wanted to be. He helped me to put the pieces back together. He made me realize that the failure was not in leaving, but that it would have been in staying in that situation. He has brought qualities and strength out of me that I didn’t know existed. He has inspired me to be more than I ever thought I could be. He has taught me that a failure is not a failure unless you let it bring you down. Even if things do not turn out the way I

want them to, if I learn something from the experience, I have succeeded. If it wasn’t for Dan, I would not be in school. I never thought I had it in me before. I guess when you are told you are stupid long enough you believe it. I did. I don’t anymore. Dan and I are now dating and he has shown me that there is life and love after your world falls apart. I am worthy of the good things in my life. For me, Dan is one of them.
