You make a good point that the team assigned to build the word processor may be inexperienced in the ±eld, therefore slowing down development. I too believe that aircrafts and bridges may have similar blueprints to others of the category, making them faster to complete. I hope you don't mind if I point out your slight error in APA in-text citation formatting... The text states, “If you are a civil engineer building bridges then all you need to know is about bridges”(Ivan Marsic). Should be... The text states, “If you are a civil engineer building bridges then all you need to know is about bridges” (Marsic, 2012, p. #). Of course, I did not deduct any points for this small mistake, your post is excellent! 144 words Permalink | Show parent | Reply Re: Week 1 Discussion Question by Dwayne Brown - Wednesday, 6 February 2019, 9:38 PM Thanks for that correction and feedback! 6 words Permalink | Show parent | Reply Re: Week 1 Discussion Question by Shaker Reyya - Wednesday, 6 February 2019, 12:53 PM HI, was a nice post. software development is about giving software solutions to business/real-world problems, that is dealing with multiple disciplines, understanding them and formulating their solution.

This week was really eye opening to software engineering concepts. 16 words Permalink | Show parent | Reply Re: Week 1 Discussion Question by Andre Thomas - Sunday, 3 February 2019, 5:53 PM The reason why aircraft building and highway bridges are built on time and usually within the budget is that the problem domain is well known and well de±ned. The "black box" methodology applies well enough for re-use in the development of these complex items, as they often follow the same underlying fundamentals that make them possible to reproduce with very little changes. Software, on the other hand, di²ers tremendously as the problem domain can and often times shift through the development lifecycle. For example, the way in which a retailer "A" applies business rules to his/her business can and will be di²erent in how retailer "B" applies its rules, thus making the problem domain di²erent.
