Conduct exit interviews. Evaluate and lead process improvement with senior department members and Director of Finance Employee Relations: 30% Investigate complaints, discuss resolution options; work with campus HR to conduct and serve as liaison. Regularly evaluate needs, issues, and provide support across all department areas including affiliated institution’s and centers. Advise employees and supervisors on accommodation and Family Medical Leave Act. Develop and actively facilitate corrective action plans and lead progressive discipline meetings including dismissal. Interpret, apply and advise supervisory personnel on UW policies and translate into best practice for departments’ supervisory staff. Maintain close relationships with Chair, and Director to manage sensitive and confidential issues together. Manage documentation of all HR actions and ensure all supervisors are documenting appropriately to support all aspects of the performance management process Administration, payroll, compliance: 20% Leads and/or participates in management meetings to review and develop department-wide human resource and payroll policy and procedures. Maintains cooperative working relationships with colleagues. Demonstrates teamwork and support of the missions of Faculty, Staff and Students. Oversee payroll, leave management and reporting for employees; Manage Workday processes, facilitate and provide guidance for Workday issues. Manage training requirements; customize training plans based on positions and appointments, including asbestos, prevention of sexual. harassment, new employee orientation, benefits, human subjects, HIPAA, and lab safety. Lean Process improvement, Manage Dept. E- Verify compliance Other projects as assigned by supervisor. Responsible for Department emergency response plan and safety committee Supervision: 20% Hire, train and manage performance of HR Coordinator. Supervise work performance, workflow, work schedule and Supervise and approve all Workday activities. Supervise and oversee Visa applications. Implement procedural changes for processes; monitor efficiencies and make adjustments Initiate and process relocation/moving and other compensation requests
