BIPOLAR DISORDER 11 closely monitored because of the possible complications it may bring about when combined with other chemical medications. Lamotrigine: A relatively new medication in the market, recent research has come to the conclusion that it can be applied as a mood stabilizer particularly since it can be quite useful for the depressed phase of bipolar disorder. However, one outstanding risk of usage of this medication is that 3 out of 1000 individuals are bound to develop very severe rashes. The risk of this side effect can significantly be reduced if the medication is used in a series of slowly continued increase in the dosage. Apart from the risk of severe rashes, this medication can have some other not too significant side effects of dizziness, headaches, and difficult with vision.
