Kuwata (2017) states in the article that research supports the fact that strengthening nurse staffing improves the quality of care and that federally mandated patient to nurse ratios would improve patient outcomes. The second non-research article selected Harrington, Schnelle, McGregor and Simmons (2016) give their opinion on the serious quality of care problems within nursing homes associated with nurse staffing levels.
