being conversant with the Summerville Children's Centre Child Protectionpolicymaintaining up-to-date developmental records on all children in eachdevelopmental domainimmediately notifying the Director when they have suspicions thatchildren have been or are at risk of exposure to child abuse and neglectpromptly contacting a DoCS Helpline Officer, as directed by the Directorcompleting all relevant documentation pertaining to the suspected abuseand neglectproviding DoCS with ongoing information about specific childrenworking with DoCS and other involved agencies and participating inprotection planning meeting for children.The roles and responsibilities of Director/authorised supervisor are:assisting centre staff with the identification of suspected abuse or neglect,and the identification of children who are at risk of abuseensuring that centre staff act on their professional obligation to report,when there are reasonable grounds to suspect abuse or neglectproviding ongoing support, including follow-up after reporting resourceinformation and inservice programsorganizing counseling, where appropriate, for center staff with approvalfrom the management committeeproviding DoCS with ongoing information about specific childrenworking with DoCS and other involved agencies and participating inprotection planning meetings for children enrolled as part of a DoCS'Protection Plannotifying the NSW Ombudsman of any allegations/convictions of childabuse or misconduct that might lead to allegations/convictions of childabuse against a Summerville Children's Centre's employee.
