Client : Right, right
Counselor: Yeah that would be awesome so I’m happy that she’s excited and you’re excited and
we’re just going to hope for the best right? So, last time I asked you to write 5 goals down and
I’d like for you to share those five goals with me that you would like to accomplish in your life
because remember we’re working on changing the transcript of your life and not so much
focusing on the negative but putting our attention into the positive so just share with me those
goals that you have for your life
Client: Ok so I put them in order of how I wanted them to go so the first one is to graduate high
school
Counselor: Ok
Client: The second one is to go to nursing school and the third one is I want to get married and
have kids and have a family of my own and then the last one is that I want to make a tutoring
center for kids like a drop off center because other people have been helping me with tutoring
Counselor: Awesome so you know that I have a nursing background so I’m excited about that
you’re going to be a nurse, I ended up changing my career at the last minute so I’m excited that
you want to join the field of nursing that’s awesome and all of your goals sound really good and
they are very attainable. What we want to do is talk about some things that you can do to obtain
those goals and in order for you to graduate you have to make good grades right? So what we’re

going to do is try to figure out at least 30 minutes a day when you can focus on studying and
your homework, whether that’s when your boys go to sleep or wherever it may be when you can
put that time in for 30 mins focus in on studying. Sometimes you don’t realize that even al little
time into studying will help and it doesn’t have to be hours at a time just 30mins a day and then
as we keep going we’ll progress to more than 45 mins or 1 hour ok>
Client: Yeah
Counselor: That’ll be one thing we can do, also we’ll start to look at scholarships because there
are several scholarships for nurses and so I’ll be willing to help you so that you can find some of
those so that you can have help paying for college and then going to nursing school and then
being a nurse like you want to be right?
