"Tolerance is very dull virtue [...] yet this is the quality which will be most needed after the war”. (Forster 34). Tolerance can actually help the world recover from the wars but the world is full of people that have negative opinions too. Forster based the explanations of tolerance to the Scottsboro boys trials in different ways. The first similarity is people having different opinions which then causes racism to spread. Love can’t always help with everything such as help the world recover. The Scottsboro boys were accused due to the racism of other’s opinions. Once both show the explanation, the men were showed the negativity of racism through discrimination. The second similarity is that both explain the usual victims of racism and how it is everywhere. In the Scottsboro boys trials, Doctors were to testify to tell the results of the women that if they were raped. The first doctor testified sexual intercourse between the Scottsboro boys and the women, the second doctor examined the victims but had found little evidence of the crime. Both have their own ways of showing how racism works in the real world. This shows racism has been here for a long time. Third similarity in both show how racism can be prevented, through tolerance. Brodsky the Scottsboro boy’s attorney defended the them through best of his advantage. Although the they were still guilty, their attorney wanted a retrial for their case. “Brodsky’s defense focused on a number of issues, First, since the Alabama juries did not include blacks, Brodsky argued that they were not juries of the defendant’s peers or represented the population as a whole” (Haskin’s 45). In both of the text, have the experience and explain the essential how it can be tolerated. This explains that even though racism was prohibited in certain states, racism is not gone so African Americans did not have the same rights as white folks did in the past. While Forester’s Text are very similar to the Scottsboro Boy’s Trials, there are some differences in each event.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
