people are politically jiving with our lives.” And as long as students are unaware of themselves politically and how to approach a situation politically they will be able to have a successful revolution or any revolution at all. What seems to have been the author’s intention? Stokely Carmichael wrote this text because he while informing the audience of what has been going on in the past and present, he is also trying to incite action of the people for the future. This speech was probably epideictic in nature because he had the power to trigger emotions and was trying to establish the membership of a community with the students at the college, telling them that they had a job still to do and that they must do it together. While being epideictic, his speech was also deliberative because he urged the students to become politically aware because morality wouldn’t work. Politics concerns the business of government and the future impact of policy decisions which would in turn affect the students whom they would be imposed upon. If the occasion was different, I don’t think that the speech would have changed because Carmichael had a message to send out and there was a particular way he had to do it for it to be effect. Unless he were to just change the topic from students being politically aware to another issue that he must address with another group of people, I don’t believe he would have sugar-coated or altered anything in anyway.

As a current student on this bumpy collegiate pathway, I stumbled upon Course Hero, where I can find study resources for nearly all my courses, get online help from tutors 24/7, and even share my old projects, papers, and lecture notes with other students.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
