The moment I was tired of waiting I barged into my mum’s room without even knocking. With a calm soft voice and really broad smile. God knows I was fully prepared for that risk, but I had to get it off and be done with so I could at least know exactly where my fate lies.I then started, I quote ‘’mummy, as a class and the seniors of our school also combined, we’ll be hosting an after BECE party, and this party only happens once and after it, none is ever going to be organized by us the current Jss three students (ninth grade students)”.’’So I was wondering if you could let me join them for this upcoming event as my presence is really needed’’. My mum then asked me why exactly is my presence needed and why me? I had to find a reason more complicated than I had earlier thought. So I told her «me being the class

Sesay 5 prefect ( the head of the classroom),I was sort of like obliged to be there plus the tickets where all handed over to me to distribute to the class, sell and refund the money». After hearing the reason why my mum shook her head and told me she has heard me and as for now she was in the middle of a very important conversation before I walked in. So I should excuse her for a minute or two. That I did and for one reason or the other I walked out with a smile on my face. My mum’s voice that I’ve studied for so long made me know that sounded so much like a YES. After ten minutes my cousin left the room, my mum called out my name asking me to come in and give her a full description of what that whole party or show is going to look like. She basically needed the venue, time, place, and telephone number of one of the seniors. I gave her all she needed and further on explained. Surprisingly my mum turned looking at me and said out what I had once insinuated,” YES Ada you can go as you have given me a reason to believe this whole event is school wise and most of all, you’ll pretty much go to the next grade and turn into a senior soon, so I believe it pretty much time I start letting you see the world as it is and learn faster”. This got me having goose bumps, never for once had I thought my mum would ever be that easy to persuade and give me a straight answer as a ‘’YES” that fast. So for the first time in my life I was able to persuade my mum without much effort and less questioning. Overall I must say I used pathos throughout my essay and it worked perfectly well.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
