48. Tetracyclines contain a four Ring Structure with a Variety of Side Chains. They can be administered orally or by Injection. Tetracyclines -- A. • Bind to the 30S Subunit and prevent the binding of new tRNA Molecules to the Ribosome Acceptor Site (“A” Site). • Administration frequently results in a Vaginal Yeast Infection B. • Bind to the 30s Subunit and block Translocation and the release of tRNA after Peptide Bond Formation • Tetracyclines are one of the least Toxic Antibiotics. C. • Bind to the 50S Subunit and block the Translocation and the release of tRNA immediately before Peptide Bond Formation. • Tetracyclines are inhibited by Calcium. Patients should avoid Spinach, Broccoli and Dairy Foods. D. • Bind to the 50S Subunit and block the Translocation and the release of tRNA after Peptide Bond Formation. • Tetracyclines have the Broadest Spectrum of any Antibiotics and are Effective agains Gram Positives and Gram Negatives.

It is Bactericidal, Broad Spectrum, can be administered orally or by Injection and is excreted via the Kidneys. Quinolones such as Ciprofloxacin -- STOP!
