V. Pre-teaching Vocabulary: Some of the words which are used in the text when I read the book before reading to the class are the following Ukulele, Ninja fight, Lava, Volcano. The above mention four words might be uncommon to the students. As the mentioned four words are the name of objects for ukulele, I’d show an artist playing it and an artist playing guitar and tell them the difference between them both and the picture of it helps students to identify it. for the word Ninja fight, the best comparison I can show is a professional boxer and Japanese ninja and explain to them how a person is named ninja and what they do. For volcano and lava, I’d use an animated video of volcano eruption and show them what is called volcano and what is called lava. Using visual tools to teach new or uncommon words will help students in Identifying and retaining them easily. For building cultural background I’d invite a community member who is knowledgeable about Hawaiian culture and facilitate a session to present and discuss their culture. VI. For this text, I’d Use the KWL chart for teaching. After finishing the session of building up the cultural background I’d read the whole text to the class 2 times and when finished I’d draw a chart on the board which contains three columns namely know, want to learn, learned. After that, I explain how to fill the columns in the first I’d question what do I know about vacation and Hawaii and write it down in the column on board and then I’d question what I want to learn about Hawaii and vacations in Hawaii Islands? And I’d write down my answer
