According to the Pravda Report, a Russian news website, someone’s brain reacts to this by releasing certain ‘feel good’ chemicals to keep them both happy during the short, stressful parts and as an effect of the relief someone feels whenever the protagonist escapes. The up and down emotions can release substances such as dopamine and serotonin. Many people will go to great lengths to get bursts of these chemicals. An easy and fun solution has been right in front of everyone the entire time. ● Transition: But fear doesn’t just affect people’s bodies. BODY THREE ● Main point: Fear helps people become ready to face reality.
● Support: When people are constantly put into this state of mind, they become accustomed to it. Because of that, if danger does arise, they have a better chance of facing it with a level head. They see other people, however fake, get into dangerous situations and watch them keep a level head. Specifically with horror movies, people are taught survival tactics and have more of an understanding in what to do if a dangerous situation comes up. ● Support: Horror also helps people face their fears.
