Analysis Questions: 1.) Based on our data, the leaf that displayed the most pigments on the paper was our basic green leaf,  which showed chlorophyll b and xanthophylls, and of course, chlorophyll b is responsible for the leaf’s  color, but surprisingly, it was the leas visible pigment on the chromatography paper, even though it is  the color of the leaf we were experimenting on. 2.) I was surprised to learn that the green leaf contained yellow xanthophylls,  though it was a deep  green color. 3.) A plant uses all of its pigments to reflect light, though some pigments tend to block out all other  pigments, every pigment is used to reflect a certain color, so under circumstances, a leaf can show  different colors. 4.) In Autumn, leaves change colors. Mostly from green to yellow, orange, and red, because chlorophyll  breaks down in the fall, allowing carotenes, anthocyanin, and xanthophylls to push through the  chlorophyll and display their colors.

As a current student on this bumpy collegiate pathway, I stumbled upon Course Hero, where I can find study resources for nearly all my courses, get online help from tutors 24/7, and even share my old projects, papers, and lecture notes with other students.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
