It was due to the growing power of Germany that france and Britain decided to set aside their differences and become part of the triple entente. Majority of Europe was now divided into two, the triple alliance and the triple entente. Significance:due to these alliances, when one country went to war, the others of that group would help that country. Due to their interests in moroccan lands, tensions between france and germany rose, issuing the heightening of international arms in each country. 21. Schlieffen Plan (1905) What: germany military plan that addressed how germany should handle the threat of a war on two fronts with russia and france Stipulated that if war were expected, germany should first attack france before embarking upon military actions against russia. Rational: russia would require several weeks in order to mobilize its troops and assemble them along the german border Under the plan, germany hoped to overrun france in only six weeks by attacking across france’s borders with belgium and holland, which were less fortified than the border with germany significance:??
