Employee Development
Employee rounding gives a leader the opportunity to meet with each staff member
regularly. The employee can utilize this time to discuss things that are going well, or
discuss things they need help with. The leader can utilize this time to help problem
solve if needed, or just simply thank the employee for doing a great job. Certainly, this
time is also a perfect opportunity to get to know employees on a personal level.
Employees who feel cared for personally tend to be more engaged.

Employee development is a very important part a leaders responsibilities. As a
leader, it is important that my employees have the tools they need and are able to do
the best job possible every day. Furthermore, it is important to recognize ability for
growth and encourage it. Development can happen in many ways – peer teaching,
seminars, conferences, and additional schooling just to name a few. Regardless of the
method, it is important to encourage and assist with employee development whenever
possible. Professionally satisfied employees tend to be more engaged. (Dewar, 2018)

Community Health Network very much supports employee engagement. Nursing
leadership, as well as other leadership are provided with more than adequate data and
tools to support and increase employee engagement. Our organization sends out
annual employee engagement survey to all employees. The results of the survey are
compiled and put into a comprehensive report for each department. These results are
given to the department leader. Each leader is required to review the results, determine
