AssessmentProcedureStudents will be provided a briefing on the assessment and theopportunity toseek clarification on the conduct of theassessment.Students may seek clarification at any point in time during theassessment task. Should students feel they need more time tocomplete the assessment, they must negotiate the time needed withthe assessor prior to the assessment due date.Following the assessment, responses are to be assessed andmarked asappropriate. For more information, detailedinformation can be found in PP77 Assessment Policy andProcedure.DUE DATEThe trainer/assessor will provide a date and time for this assessmentschedule on thefirst day of the unit delivery.Student InstructionsThis assessment will be conducted in the context of the scenario in the SCEI Nursing SkillsLaboratory, using the Observation Checklist provided below, and the Nursing care plantemplate (1), Admission and DischargeTemplates in the Clinical Skills Logbook.There are four (4) roles in this assessment. Each student will play the role of the enrollednurse forassessment purposes.1.The enrolled nurse -Thestudentbeingassessed(who is caring for the patientnamed Mr. Lee in the residential care facility).2.Mr. Lee - a student (nominated by the trainer and assessor).3.Mrs. Lee - Trainer/Assessor4.RN - Trainer/AssessorStudent 1 (being assessed):Enrolled Nurse, who cares for Mr. Lee in the residential care facility.Read the scenario provided and perform the tasks listed in the Observation Checklistbelow.The following clinical skills from the Clinical Skills Logbook that are relevant to this unitare assessed as a part of this assessment to demonstrate your ability to conductholistic clinical health assessments,nursing admission and discharge procedures,and develop nursing care plans.oChecking Temperature, Pulse and Respiratory rateoBlood Pressure MeasurementoPulse oximetryoBlood Glucose MeasurementoNeurological observationoNeurovascular observationoPain assessment
