your community area.Within this community, there is a Super Walmart and a Brookshires. These are located directly across from each other on Ovilla Road. Gas stations are noted along the I35E corridor and several along Ovilla Road on the north side of Ovilla. As you pass in to the more rural part of Red Oak travelling east, there are only two gas stations on the south side of Ovilla Road approximately a half mile apart. There were no department stores noted in the community. There are two resale shops that also sell antiques on Highway 342. The only large industry noted is Aerostructureswith National Freight Industries, and Knapheide Truck Equipment Centersbeing the only other predominant industries and the largest employers. Small business owners are the majority noted in the community covering automotive repair, tires, eateries, and resale shops. These establishments employ their family members within. Both motels are located off of I35E,Comfort Inn and Motel 6. There were very few vehicles noted at each motel at different times of the day and afternoon. Most businesses in this community hire high school students on a part time basis in the fast food places. Red Oak is considered more of a “bedroom community” as most people travel to Dallas and the larger surrounding areas for employment opportunities and more pay. The people who live and work in Red Oak are employed by the schools, Aeronautical industry, or on the farms and ranches located on the outskirts heading west. ●PoliticsWhat indicators do you see about politics?
