However, the companies in the UK tourism sector are yet to recover fully. 4.1 Discussion As pointed out in the literature review, the UK tourism and hospitality sectors have been hit badly by the coronavirus pandemic. Air travel and hospitality industries that support tourism in the United Kingdom have been experiencing significant challenges due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The findings of the research are parallel to those explained in the literature review. This section provides an interpretation of the data collected and presented in the analysis section. First, the data retrieved from the participants and literature review clearly shows how the COVID-19 pandemic has negatively impacted tourism sub-sectors. Findings from this study align with that of Sheretta (2020), who examined the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic in the UK tourism sector.
