The business strategy states how the firm is going to operate and the operations
strategy details the execution of the business strategy. Our text sites an
example where the business plan is to deliver highly customized quality

You provided great examples of companies that illustrated why it is important
that operations strategy reflect a company's business strategy. I agree that
companies need to evaluate their operations and find out what is working and
what is not, eliminating them is good for operations. I can provided an example
from Roseman University where I work. We have several programs that in
comparison to our dental and pharmacy programs are struggling. If you took a
quick look at the nursing and MBA programs revenue separately, one would say
that they programs should be phased out. But looking at the strategy of
Roseman to be among "best in class" institutions of health care higher learning.
Taking this into consideration and the decision was made that nursing is an
important part of health care enables other programs to crosstrain in some of
the classes offered. MBA is also important to many of our students because we
offer dual programs for dental and pharmacy students to graduate with needed
business knowledge to start their own practices. Roseman's strategy would be
