roles, interpersonal and decisional ones. First of all, I’m going to talk about informational manager’s roles in the organization. Secondly I will cover interpersonal roles of the manager. And finally I will take a look at decisional roles of the manager. My presentation will last for about 10 minutes. If you have any questions, I will be glad to answer them at the end of my presentation. Let’s start with interpersonal roles. The managerial roles in this category involve providing information and ideas. Every manager needs to have contact with his colleagues and to keep a good working atmosphere within the company. First role is Figurehead . Figureheads represent their teams. As a manager, you have social, ceremonial and legal responsibilities. You're expected to be a source of inspiration. People look up to you as a person with authority, and as a figurehead. His common tasks are greeting visitors, signing legal documents, attending ribbon cutting ceremonies etc. Second role is Leader. This is where you provide leadership for your team, your department or perhaps your entire organization; and it's where you manage the performance and responsibilities of everyone in the group. Leaders do all kind of interactions with their subordinates. The last role in this category is Liaison. Liaisons have to establish and maintain contacts within and outside the organization, so they have to be able to network effectively on behalf of your organization. They also check business correspondence; participate in meetings with other representatives etc. For example I’d like to mention Steve Jobs , a former CEO of Apple Inc. and one of the greatest manager in the last century.. He was a perfect Figurehead – he was a popular and charismatic person, even after his death he is still an icon in modern society, and there are lots of followers who quote him and copy his style. He was a good Leader too, Apple Inc. had a rallied collective, and its employees were a huge group of loyal Apple fans. Steve Jobs also was one of the best Liaisons – he used to attend different IT exhibits and conferences, including the D8 conference held by Wall Street Journal. Let’s leave it there.
