How do you get it? o It is the quality of have supreme independent authority over a territory No other place can oversee the actions of a sovereign state Cannot be overruled by anyone outside country or state o How to prove you have sovereignty Kill your own citizens o US Capital punishment, decided to drop nuclear weapon on New Jersey International response = NOTHING Can’t because US is sovereign holder of this territory Other countries expect reciprocity so they can do the same to their citizens if needed o Product of 3,4,500 years
