happened during the brothers’ visit to the Cameroon Estate which was located in South Carolina. young Ben Cameron decided to idolize Elsie Stoneman’s picture. During the civil war, all the young men who originated from both families were able to enlist in their respective armies specifically for the war. Unfortunately, the younger stoneman together with the two Cameron brothers are killed in the civil war. On the other hand, the Cameron women are rescued by a group of confederate soldiers who decided to route a black militia right after the attack that was done on the Cameron home. Ben Cameron then decides to lead a heroic charge right at the siege of Petersburg (Bhattacharjee, 2012). This made him to gain popularity making him to earn the nickname ‘the little colonel’. Unfortunately, he is wounded and captured where. Ben is then admitted to one of the union hospitals that was situated in Washington DC. 4 BIRTH OF A NATION hospital where he encounters Elsie stoneman whose picture he has been with for quite a long time. Elsie was by then working as the hospital as one of the nurses employed there. She then takes Cameron’s mother who had travelled a long way to Washington DC just to tend to her son to see Abraham Lincoln. Mrs. Cameron persuades the president to Purdon ben. When the assassination of Lincoln took place at the ford’s theatre, the conciliatory post war policy that he brought on board expires with him at this time. Stoneman together with is protégé Silas lynch, decided to head to South Carolina to encounter to observe the implementation that was associated with the reconstruction policies. During the election period where lynch is elected to be the lieutenant governor, various blacks are observed staffing the ballot boxes where most of the whites are denied their voting rights all the newly elected representatives of the South Carolina legislature are shown at their respective locations where they were displaying some inappropriate behaviors that were not actually related to what they were supposed to do. One of the behaviors involved one individual taking off his shoe and putting his feet right on top of his desk that was in front of him. Others could also be seen drinking various brands of liquor. Meanwhile, inspired by a condition that was displayed by the white children who pretended to be ghosts with an intention of scaring some of the black children. Ben then retaliates back where he decides to form the Ku Klux Klan. Elsie then decides to break her relationship with ben. Later on, Flora Cameron is seen going deep into the wood to look for some water, she was then followed by Gus who was by then a freedman and a soldier who is now a captain. Flora gets confronted by the man who decided to tell her about his desire on getting married. Flora then flees into the forest where she was pursued by Gus. She then issues a warning to Gus that she will jump if at any point Gus came closer to her. When he does, flora then leaps to her death.
