It should include the following elements: any background information that would help the audience understand the purpose or circumstances of the award the criteria used for selecting the recipient the achievements of the recipient Speech of acceptance: These are oral remarks made by the recipient of an award or honor. The person should try to sound appreciative and deserving. Always thank those who played a part in your achieving the honor Thank the organization giving you the award and recognize the work it is doing Don’t exaggerate your gratitude Be brief – make a few sincere remarks and take a seat Speech of tribute: This speech praises or celebrates a person, group, institution, or an even. It conveys gratitude, respect, or admiration. This should be a completely positive speech A tribute to a dead person is called a eulogy: this is a laudatory oration in honor of someone who has died. It should focus of the significance of the person’s life or deeds Inspirational speeches stir positive emotions to cause people to feel excited, uplifted, or encouraged The speech is similar to the persuasive speech. The difference is that in an inspirational speech, you devote yourself almost entirely to stirring emotions Therefore, delivery is key. To inspire other people, you must be inspired
