Press on ‘[‘ to decrease the size. ‘[‘ or ‘]’ does not affect the hardness New size is displayed on the Brush Panel on the Option bar. Painting with a soft-edged brush: 100% hardest-edged brush. 0% softest-edged brush (most feathered edge). The size of the feathered edge increases or decreases proportionately with the size of the brush. Soft brush will affect pixels outside the circle that represents the brush tool. 4

Painting a Complex Mask: The texture of the object you are masking determines the hardness of the brush tool you are using to mask changes. Use [Spacebar] to access hand tool. When choosing a Hardness setting for the brush to mask an item, your choice is based on the actual item it self. Understanding the Color Picker: Color Picker is a dialog box that allows you to choose any available color as the foreground or background color. It is designed in terms of: o Hue: name of the color ( red, blue ..). o Saturation: intensity of the color. o Brightness: how dark or light the color is.(when it is set to 0% all you would see is black). Click the foreground color button on the tools panel to open the Color Picker. Hue value is specified in degrees because the slider represents a standard color wheel of 360 degrees. New box: represents the new foreground color. Current box: represents the current foreground color. 5 Hue slider

* In the upper-right corner, the S and B values are 100%, this color is called Pure Hue ( the brightest and most saturated). * A color with 0% brightness is equal to black.
