Additionally, the Mexican diplomat also mentioned that he dynamically engaged in establishing the possibility for his country to have more desirable accesses to the Brazilian and Argentinian markets. In exchange, he would reduce tariffs on transporting grains from South America so that the partner countries could benefit their fair share of their trading partnership. He argued that this last measure would serve as an alleviating cushion to Mexico in case the United States eventually decides to withdraw from NAFTA.
