Appendix A: Simulation My Learning Unlimited Simulation Background The RTO that you are enrolled has developed a new initiative to provide their students with further. This latest initiative is to support students to achieve course completions within the allocated timeframes for each unit of study. Course completions refers to each student achieving a competent grade for each unit and within the specified timeframes. The RTO believes the achievement of course completions require support systems to be put in place. Therefore, a new feature, the creation of Study Groups, has been introduced. Each student is randomly allocated a Study Group with two other students in the course. The RTO suggests that students will meet once a week for 30 minutes and document their discussion to ensure that outcomes are monitored. Study Group Requirements are provided below: Needs: Our RTO wants to support students achieve course completions within the allocated course timeframes as this ensures most students will complete their course on time allowing them to achieve their career goals. Targets: The RTO will achieve 90% satisfactory completion of student assessments within the course timeframe. This will be achieved by undertaking the following: students are to form into study groups groups will consist of 2-3 students which as selected by the RTO groups will meet once a week each member of each group will document their learning. Resources and Budget: To support this achievement, the RTO will provide the following resources and budget: groups will be given access to meeting rooms, internet, printers groups will have access to a support person from the RTO an overall budget of $10,000 to cover all of the 150 students enrolled at the College. The simulation centres on your role in this Study Group. The focus is on your ability to plan what and how the Study Group will achieve, and then develop and implement a Personal Schedule that lists and track results with your personal performance in achieving the tasks listed in your Study Group Plan. Simulation Phases This simulation is divided into the following phases: Phase 1: you will organise and prepare plans and schedules. Phase 2: You will seek feedback on your performance. Phase 3: You will plan, seek input, and undertake professional development to achieve new skills. Phase 1: Phase 1 occurs in Task 1.
