For option C, to establish effective collaboration, Unilever need to look for partners who either share the same vision in sustainable growth or possess sustainable reputation. By choosing right partners, Unilever should be able to strategically align business with a common goals. Then, it is necessary to market the partnership, build sustainable culture and spread values to both external parties and internal parties, especially employee training systems. Similar to option A, the performances of the partnership should be revised, evaluated and enhanced yearly in order to reject underperform ones and focus more on effective collaborations. With the combination of two options above, I believe that it will be more possible for USLP to get its two off-target metrics, which are GHG and water usage, back to the right track. I would like to propose following recommendations. For GHG reduction, Unilever should discover and use more renewable energy for its factories. Besides, it should cut down employee travel and unnecessary business trips. Also, the reduction of GHG would be more effective if Unilever could organize more PR as well as educational activities to raise the awareness of consumers. For lowering water usage, the most possible approach is to improve manufacture processes to increase efficiency of factories, reduce the required amount of water. Moreover, Unilever could concentrate more on products which use less water.
