numbers were rather high, in fact not too far from the Golden Crop corn seeds with no infestations. All in all the farmer would have a good year if there was no infestation or little infestation 3. What might happen if Bt corn affects non-target organisms such as beneficial insects or harmless insects? If BT corn was to have an effect on non-target beneficial insects then the corn crops may not do so well. 4. What might happen if ECB became resistant to Bt? If ECB became resistant to the Bt would not do well at all because that would mean that the Bt would have an effect on the ECB which would make the ECB stronger which would make the Bt weaker and the crops weaker in return. 5. Discuss possible benefits and drawbacks of a transgenic organism such as Bt corn? Possible benefits of a transgenic organism such as Bt corn would be that it would probably not have the same characteristics as regular corn. What I mean by that statement is that it probably would not die as easily as regular corn or be easily affected by ECBs. Drawbacks could include the question of rather or not it would have the same nutrients as regular corn, and what effects would it have on the human body? 6. A farmer planted a field of Bt 123 corn and wants to estimate the yield in terms of bushels per acre. He counts 22 ears in 1/1000 of an acre. He determines that each ear has about 700 kernels on average. He also knows that a bushel contains about90 000 kernels on average. What is the farmer's estimate of yield in bushels/acre? 1.428571 The following message has been sent: To: [email protected], [email protected] From: Virtual Lab Student ([email protected]) Subject: Biotechnology - Dependent and Independent variables - Brianna Bailey ([email protected]) Biotechnology - Dependent and Independent variables - Brianna Bailey ([email protected]) Table

As a current student on this bumpy collegiate pathway, I stumbled upon Course Hero, where I can find study resources for nearly all my courses, get online help from tutors 24/7, and even share my old projects, papers, and lecture notes with other students.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
