With MLDA 18 implemented there would be safe environments for alcohol people won't find it necessary to binge drink. One reason is because they have learned healthy ways to consume alcohol since it would be now normalized. another reason would be that they don't have to find alternative ways to consume alcohol since it would be legal. people would now have the ability to safely consume alcohol in a healthy setting because of the drinking age being lowered to 18, which would ultimately decrease binge drinking. There would be more treated alcohol injuries and accidents that correlates with a decrease in alcohol-related deaths. Underage drinking is very prevalent even with the enforced law of MLDA 21. underage drinkers usually have to find an alternative way to consume alcohol not get

Underage drinkers, however, are reluctant to go to the hospital to get help because they are afraid of the consequences they face from breaking the law. If the drinking age was lowered to 18, more people would feel comfortable going into the hospital to get help for their injuries. This is a major positive impact on the country. a lot of alcohol-related deaths result from untreated injuries. With the drinking age being lowered to 18 there'll be a strong decrease in adolescent death from alcohol. There would also be more young drinkers, as the drinking age lowered the accessibility to alcohol is greater. With the drinking age being lowered to 18, it is known that there will be more drinkers because the legal age range is greater. However, there is another it will impact the amount of people consuming alcohol. People below the age of 18 are still part of the demographic that drinks underage. By age 15, at least 50% already had a drink (“US Department”). Now with the drinking age being lowered to 18, they have easier access to purchase alcohol from people 18 and over. 18-year-olds can still be found at high schools and can be friends with people as young as 13. with that easy accessibility to obtain alcohol there would be an increase and drinking amongst teenagers. With that increase it can be dangerous because alcohol consumption at such a young age can hinder their brain development. It also can lead to alcohol abuse and addiction, when consuming at such a young age (“US Department”). But the negative effects on their brain development can also negatively impact the overall population because these kids will be the future generation. the drinking age being lowered to 18 will Increase the accessibility for adolescents to consume alcohol which can be dangerous for them and society. The drinking age being lowered to 18, would change America’s culture towards alcohol.

Damaceno 10 Behaviors and attitudes relating to drinking would be more positive and healthy. Alcohol would be something taught by parents to children as a casual activity. adults would be able to teach their children healthy ways of consuming alcohol.
