Existing offices will be demolished to accommodate additional warehouse spaceThe implementation plan will include a project plan/GANNT chart which illustrates key milestones and deliverables. Deliverables should include at least two layout scenarios with associated costs and schematics illustrating individual workstations, conference rooms and collaboration areas. In addition, style boards depicting all color, fabric, flooring and furniture selections should be presented in person. 3-dimensional virtual reality renderings are preferred, but 2-dimensional drawings will be accepted.ApproachThis project will be managed according to the PMI waterfall project methodology as it is a fairly simple and straightforward project with clear solutions. The waterfall approach allows for multiple tasks to be allocated to team member so they can work on their activities in parallel, however the implementation happens in a sequential stepped approach. This approach requires solid documentation and ongoing control and monitoring from the project manager. The only area of concern will be keeping the project manager focused on this project as her priority during the full 90 days to completion. Assumptions/Constraints/DependenciesIt is assumed the HVAC, electrical and IT infrastructure that currently exists within the building will be sufficient to support the new office location. The new West end office location previously occupied by another tenant, and we have done a preliminary walk-through. All building systems appear to be

We already know the IT server room is not being relocated, however we have concerns that the current wireless system will cover the new distance so it may need an upgrade and additional routers.One constraint for the project is if there are additional funds needed for enhancements or unforeseen expenditures. If any of these unforeseen costs are attributable to building conditions that are required per the lease terms, the building owners may need cover the costs. Also, RPI does not have additional staff to dedicate to the project. The office manager will reassign her daily duties to co-workers for the 90 day duration of the project, however she will need to manage the project mostly on her own. She will be able to utilize the Controller to assist with managing any IT needs,and the company’s Service Technician will be used for installation support and facilities knowledge. If theoffice manager is unable to fulfill these duties for any reason, the company will either slow down the implementation or consider hiring an outside project management resource.The project dependency is that the current tenants move out of the location by 4/15/18 so that the project implementation can commence on 5/1/18 in order to be move-in ready by 6/18/18. There is no concern that this will happen as the tenants have already relocated personnel and are in process of moving out furniture and other equipment.
