Format The images should: 1. be arranged to create a successful focal point, and a unified image 2. overlap so no board is seen in the composition 3. vary is scale 4. vary in contrast or opacity 5. be cut out along the contours of the subjects 6. dry mounted on the black mounting board so that all images and their edges are sealed flat to the board The final montage composition should: 1. be 9” X 12” or 11” X 17” in size 2. be dry mounted on a piece of white mounting board or black mounting board. (9” X 12” montage composition needs an 13” X 16” piece of board; 11” X 17” montage composition needs a 15” X 21” piece of board) This creates a uniform 2” blank border around the image. 3. use white board if your image borders are dark and dark board is your image borders are light.
