My first interaction that I observed was between a two girls. They seemed to be best friends. The two girls were talking about what their weekend plans were. They must have been very close friends because their conversations flowed very well. They rarely had moments of silence. The actors had a strong understanding of how the other person thought even without saying anything. For example: They would both look a situation and then look back at each othersmirking and laughed without saying anything. Their social cues toward each other seemed to have sparked a mutual reaction. There were not formal with each other. It was like these two friends were having a casual lunch conversation together. They were amicable towards each other and showed great interest and understanding in how each other’s lives were going at the moment. The girls were curious as to how each other’s feelings during this midterm season. Theymust have been in different classes because they had different levels of stress. One girl seemed tobe more quiet and sad compared to the other girl. One of the girls continued to talk the majority of the time. Another interaction I observed was between a Chinese couple. I could not really understand anything they were saying so I had to go off of symbols and body language. The girl seemed to very upset and was crying. The male was comforting her and like rubbing her back. It looked as if they were having an argument. I felt uncomfortable observing their relationship because I felt as if it was a personal matter and I did not want the couple to feel any worse. Another group I noticed while sitting near Northgate was a group of three boys. They looked like
Cal Athletes because they had those specific backpacks with the Cal numbers on them. I could also tell by the way they interacted with each other that they could be described as the typical “jocks”. These boys were loud and inconsiderate about disrupting the people around them. They were laughing loudly and talking to each other about their practice. I guess they were excited for their game quickly approaching. The boys were of different races. Some were African American and others were Caucasian but they had no problem communicating with each other. They looked as if they had known each other for a while or because of they were teammates they must have known each other very well. Triplet groups whether it was all girls or all boys, these groups were different. The conversations between them were awkward. If two of the individuals were
