Part 3: Evidence-Based Strategies to Create High-Performance Interprofessional Teams (1- 2 pgs) To improve the level of civility and teamwork that exists in our program, it will be important to incorporate evidence-based strategies. Basing our program policies on evidence- based practices will provide a solid structure that all team members can follow. To properly improve the areas were our program is falling short, it will be helpful to incorporate strategies that have been proven effective in other settings. With continued review and analysis, new strategies could help increase our program civility and improve our teamwork. Strategies to Address Workplace Shortcomings
WORKPLACE ENVIRONMENT ASSESSMENT Recommend at least two strategies, supported in the literature, that can be implemented to address any shortcomings revealed in your Work Environment Assessment. Strategies to Bolster Successful Workplace Practices Recommend at least two strategies that can be implemented to bolster successful practices revealed in your Work Environment Assessment. As I looked over my inventory responses, I was able to gather an understanding of where I felt our workplace strengths exists. The areas that I believed were “somewhat true” included our organizational encouragement of expressing diverse or opposing ideas and perspectives, our celebration of individual and collective achievements, and the promotion of teamwork and collaboration. To strengthen these successful workplace practices, Summary An inventory analysis of my current workplace environment was conducted to evaluate the level of health and civility that exists. To determine where helpful changes could be implemented, a review of relative literature was also completed. Although the results of my assessment provided insight into some negative workplace realities, it was helpful to establish ways that improvements can be initiated. Raised awareness was the first step that came from this assignment. Communication and teamwork will help me to bring this information to the next level. To develop a healthy and civil workplace, the difficult situations that were noted in the results must be appropriately addressed. Utilizing the evidence-based strategies that were discussed in the literature will hopefully help my team create a more civil and healthy workplace environment not just for our team but also for the patients that we are caring for.
