the act? According to Ganzini (2000), to request for these medication, one must be an adult (18 years and above) and should be diagnosed with a terminal diseases that can lead to death within 6 months. To receive the medication, physicians must confirm the patient’s residence, mental competence and two waiting periods between the oral requests and the second between filling and receiving the prescription. The APRNs can carry out the diagnosis and follow the required criteria and putting them under limitations undermines them since they work closely with physicians. Again the physician can be transferred to another state making it difficult to do a follow up of his/her patients. There may be cases where the Doctor is unwilling to carry out the act, the APRN can be of assistance to fulfill the patient’s request. In short, the law should allow APRNs to carry out death with dignity act.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
