It can be seen from the experiment that the results were not well within the agreed limits of the experimental error because d was greater than the error in d. There are a series of sources where the error must have come from and they are as follows. First of all there was random error in measurement when reading the length of the extension caused by the mass on the spring. There is also random error in measurement when taking the reading of the mass of the spring, off the triple beam balance. There was a also random systematic error from the logger pro and photo gate that was used during thus experiment. There was also random intrinsic error coming from air resistance that could have happened during the dynamic investigation of this experiment. Theoretically the y-intercept of the second graph, i.e. the mass vs. T 2 graph,

is the supposed to be the efficient mass of the spring multiplied by a constant, and it should be equal to zero. Conclusion The experiment was not successful as the values were not within the range of possible errors. The factors that could have led to the failure of this experiment have been accounted for in the discussion section. Also, the experiment served its purpose as we were able to relate springs to swinging pendulums at the end of it all due to the series of experiments conducted

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
