it happened to have 9 syllables. That’s when I established my meter. From there, I just wrote a poem, throwing in a simile, one or two allusions, and a hyperbole. This poem is entirely a collection of couplets, with lines the rhymes with each other, to entire stanzas that rhyme. For my simile, I used “as beautiful as a rose” to describe the painting. Since a rose is often a symbol of beauty, I decided to use a rose to describe the gratitude of the painting. As for my allusion, I used both Da Vinci, as a reference to Leonardo Da Vinci, a famous Italian painter, and Madagascar, an island off the east coast of Africa.

My alliteration is presented in my line. “Peter the Painter painted a picture.” With 4 “P’s” in that line, anyone reading the poem can identify that it’s a reccuring sound, and can identify it as an alliteration Lastly, for my hyperbole, I said that “he flew half way to Madagascar”, which is obviously an exaggeration because being hit by a car anywhere on the globe cannot physically send you flying “half-way to Madagascar”. This poem was significantly tougher than the first poem. It took me a while longer, since I had to count out syllables for each line, but as for Stanzas, I really had no problem with those. I just separated each 4 parts of the poem into 4 stanzas, and they worked.
