It is extremely difficult to learn most complex

This preview shows page 1 - 2 out of 2 pages.

I am responsible for your learning. It is extremely difficult to learn most complex topics on your own. I will be your guide and in doing so I will (1) Present personally relevant, organized, lectures on important topics in microbiology (2) create learning activities that are centered on important learning outcomes for the course (See above and the lectures for learning outcomes) (3) Answer discussion posts and emails promptly, hopefully within 24 hours (4) be courteous and friendly, and support your learning efforts as much as possible. Your promise to me: You are also responsible for your learning. I cannot insert a microbiology chip into your brain. (How much easier would that be?) You should take the information we explore, struggle with it, play with it and fit it into your past experiences. This takes Work with a capital W. To be successful you will (1) Attend lecture (2) Read or watch assigned material (3) Participate in active learning sessions (4) Work with the material outside of class before and during the time you are studying for the exams. If we both hold to these promises, you will learn much and deeply explore the world of microbes. Lecture schedule The lectures are organized into 13 modules that cover what I view as the most important topics in microbiology. Here are the modules and the approximate dates that material will be available for them. It may appear earlier and I encourage you to work on it as soon as you can. Note this is all subject to change as I will adapt to how the class is doing.

As a current student on this bumpy collegiate pathway, I stumbled upon Course Hero, where I can find study resources for nearly all my courses, get online help from tutors 24/7, and even share my old projects, papers, and lecture notes with other students.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
