BUS12 BusinessAssignment v1.10 (2017/03/23)We will also inspire and encourage young kids aged 5-12 to start weightlifting to contribute to the future growth of the sportRisks/constraintsFor the noise pollution and large supply of electricity, there is little risk to other businesses and individuals around the business however it does have an impact on the ergonomics, efficiency of local employees who work in the same complex, especially if it is white collar work, hence constraining the potential productivity they may produce through their work. This can be detrimental to local businesses in the long term.StrategiesTo reduce noise, the business can invest in thicker, sound cancelling weightlifting platforms to compensate the weight being dropped on the floor which the shudders can be heard from neighbouring businesses. The gym can also allocate specific times when the weightlifting club will run, e.g. after office working hours such as from 6pm-8pm, doing so does not reduce noise itself, butalso mitigates the noise which affects neighbours. Loud music also has the same effect however a viable solution would be to turn the music volume lower during the day and/or close the main garage door leaving a small personnel door on the side open for clients. For the large electricity supply, an easy, quick but limiting solution would be to cease operation of 24/7 access, preventing unnecessary and excess electricity use of the entire gym space containing very few clients during after-hours. Another effective solution would be to replace the air condition units with large industrial fans which uses significantly less power than that of air conditioning units.Furthermore, the concept 2 rowers and assault bikes have fixed fans inside of their units which run on kinetic energy produced through human use, this can ensure that the clients using such equipment can rely on the equipment itself to keep them cool instead of an air conditioning unit, not only is it environmentally friendly, but also motivates the client to work at a higher intensity e.g. faster rowing = more wind power. The major downside of introducing industrial fans instead of air conditioning units will be the fact that while fans can generate wind force, it cannot regulate the humidity and temperature of the gym, hence a large wind force will be of no use if the wind were to be warm or hot.19
