Russia’s Long Term Oriented cultural workplace traits may include: valuing learning, adaptability, honesty, and self-discipline, consider future profitability, want personal long lasting networks, and it’s not bad to disagree. Last, as a Restraint culture, Russian believe: it’s a priority to uphold the nation’s structure, must have stern face to be serious, smiling makes you suspicious, and freedom of speech is not a primary concern. These characteristics will be take into consideration while doing the analysis and creating the intervention. United States Cultural Dimensions Again, based on the data collected by Hofstede, the results of the United States cultural dimensions are as follows: PDI is ranked number 59/61 with a score of 40, making them a small Power Distance culture, IDV is ranked number one with a score of 91, making them a Individualist culture, MAS is ranked 19 with a score of 62, making them a Masculine culture, UAI is ranked 64 with a score of 46, making them a weak Uncertainty Avoidance culture, LTO- WVS is ranked 69/71 with a score of 25, making them a Short Term Oriented culture, and IVR is ranked 18 with a score of 67, making that a Indulgent culture (Hofstede et al, 2010). Next, I will identify more characteristics they have in the workplace.

JOINT VENTURE CASE STUDY 9 By being a Small Power Distance culture, some characteristics in the workplace may include: decentralized structure, organic hierarchy communication style (horizontal), narrow range of salary (based on position), rules used as guidelines, and prefers democratic management style (Hofstede, 2010). The Individualist cultural characteristics may include: hiring and promotion are based on skills and rules, managed as individuals, job is more important than relationships, and training educates honesty and sharing feelings. As a Masculine culture, in the workplace they believe: people live to work, they resolve letting the strongest win, careers are primarily for men, and money is preferred over leisure time. With a Weak Uncertainty Avoidance, The United States employees: least amount rules needed and work when needed, have multiple employer changes, can work is chaotic work environment and are motivated by feeling belonged and achievement in their position. The United States Short Term Oriented cultural workplace traits may include: valuing freedom, achievement, and self-thinking, consider current profitability, loyalty depends on need of organization, and need cognitive consistency. Last, as an Indulgent culture, The United States believe: it’s not a priority to uphold the nation’s structure, smiling is wanted and welcoming, and freedom of speech is important. As mentioned before, I will take these characteristics into consideration while doing the analysis and creating the intervention. Analysis and Intervention After learning about the cultures and the dimension characteristics there were a few questions that came to mind. Why does each culture not like the others management style? Is there trust amongst one another? Can there be an agreement when Russia prefers negotiations to resolve issues and The United States believes the strongest party should win? I hope to answer
