This can create a problem in inconsistent quality service which is something Classic Gentleman should try to avoid at all cost. Implementation Due to the fact that the team has recommended not use a staffing agency to recruit bartenders, the team will not be implementing this deliverable. Although a staffing agency is not the best route for Classic Gentleman; the team will continue to conduct further research on whether if the business should hire independent contractors to fulfill the increase in demand as time passes. This research and plan will be presented later on another deliverable. Suitable Wages Current State A common mistake that many business owners do is not knowing how much to pay employees or themselves for the work they do. This is a problem that Classic Gentleman is currently facing but luckily it is something that can easily be fixed with a bit of research on other similar businesses. Desired State The desired state is to have a perfect understanding of what a suitable wage is for a bartender and a small business owner. This will help Classic Gentleman get a better understanding on how much they should be paying themselves and their employees. Research on How Much Bartenders Make in California Just like any other job, a bartender’s salary varies depending in the location that they are bartending at and their experience. Not every bartender gets paid the same which is why the team conducted some online research and found that according to a Career Explorer source, 71

“Bartenders earn an average yearly salary of $46,736. Salaries typically start from $24,960 and go up to $72,800”. These salaries depend on whether the person is bartending at a club or a restaurant and whether it is a popular city like San Francisco or a more unpopular city such as San Bernardino CA. Bartenders Earnings Based on Seniority The image below is a chart of the most common seniority levels in the bartending industry and how their ranking determines how much they make. The first rank is “Top End Bartender Earnings” and they make an average of $72,800 a year while the lowest one is the “Starting Bartender Earnings” and they make an average of $24,960 per year. The more seniority a person has in the bartending industry the better because it means that they have more experience with the drink making process and also more experience dealing with different types of people. What are reasonable wages for various task/jobs according to local bar sites? To get a better understanding of how much local bartenders make; the team decided to visit a couple restaurants with bars and a couple solo bars to investigate how much they make. The following is a list of the visited bars in California by the team and either their yearly or hourly income: Buffalo Wild Wings Bartenders (Brea) = $13.93 per hour Hillstone Restaurant Group Bartender (Corona Del Mar) = $15.10 per hour 72
