Technology Improvement Debate Technological improvements within the healthcare industry has progressed in medical treatment and enhanced the quality of life for many patients over time. Technology advancement in healthcare has helped to improve patient experience, practice of healthcare professionals, and medical processes (Banova, 2018). Despite many of these advancements of medical technology, there are also many defects that lead to the use of these advancements. The eight leading cause of death in the United States is due to issues associated with errors in medical technology. It correlates with complications within the technology, delivery to consumers over time, and business models. The problem is the fact that many organizations are not undergoing innovative methods appropriately, which results to reasoning behind why the areas in innovation and medical advancement become very difficult to \ effectively manage (Herzlinger, 2014). The
4 relevancy of my chosen topic in today’s business world is the fact that it can be seen as an advantage and disadvantage depending on which organization is viewing it and how the use of medical technology is interpreted. The Advantages The biggest advantage of implementing advancements in technology is improved healthcare. Within a healthcare facility, the biggest achievement for any employee there, whether a doctor, a nurse, or even an assistant, is the wellbeing of the patient and how to improve the life of the patient. One way to improve the lives of patients it though the advancement in scanning equipment’s. The advantage of advancement in an innovative scanning equipment goes beyond clinical advantage for individual patients. Work force encounters which rise from the overview of advanced diagnostic scanning equipment cannot be undervalued. These advancements in technologies have become progressively efficient and valuable due to rapid enhancement in fields of IT and telecom. The utilization information technologies permit a more rapid way of reporting and proficient use of radiologists via tele-medicine. Nevertheless, infrastructural difficulties add boundaries to the practice of tele-medicine enabling it to address work force challenges in diagnostic scanning and should be addressed (Burns et al., 2020). Technology Advancements The main goal of technology advancements is to provide a more efficient process that will benefit the patients in the long run. Whether it is measuring heartbeats of newborns or providing safer anesthesia, healthcare organization utilizes technology and products to help face many challenges and provide easier solutions.
